Daniel L. Everett is a professor of linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the author of several books, including Language: The Cultural Tool and How Languages Grow.

Ray Jackendoff is a professor of linguistics and cognitive science at Tufts University. He is the author of several books, including The Architecture of the Language Faculty and Foundations of Language: Brain, Meaning, Grammar, Evolution.
