A Group Of Children Standing On The Steps Of An Orphan Train Across The BFree Download (Beyond The Orphan Train 4)

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, thousands of children were sent away from their homes on trains bound for the American West. These children, known as the Orphan Train riders, were often placed in new homes with strangers. Many of them lost contact with their families and never knew their true identities.

Across the BFree Download, Beyond the Orphan Train is the story of one such child, a young woman named Loretta Walsh. Loretta was born in New York City in 1886, and at the age of six, she was sent away on an Orphan Train to Wisconsin. She was placed in a home with a kind family, but she always longed to know where she came from.

In her early twenties, Loretta began to search for her birth family. She wrote letters to orphanages and social service agencies, but she could not find any information. She eventually gave up her search, but she never forgot her dream of finding her family.

Years later, Loretta's granddaughter, Kate Moore, decided to take up her grandmother's search. Kate was a writer and a historian, and she was determined to find out what had happened to her grandmother's family.

Kate's search led her to a small town in Iowa, where she found a record of Loretta's birth. She also discovered that Loretta had a brother, who had been adopted by a family in Minnesota.

Kate contacted Loretta's brother, and he was overjoyed to hear from her. He had always wondered what had happened to his sister, and he had never given up hope of finding her.

Loretta and her brother were reunited in 2010, after more than 80 years apart. It was a joyous occasion, and it brought closure to a lifelong search for both of them.

Loretta's story is a testament to the enduring power of family bonds. Even after years of separation, she and her brother were able to find each other and reconnect. Their story is a reminder that it is never too late to search for your roots and to find your family.

In Across the BFree Download, Beyond the Orphan Train, Kate Moore tells the story of her grandmother's search for her family. She also explores the history of the Orphan Train movement and the impact it had on the lives of thousands of children. The book is a moving and inspiring story of family, loss, and reunion.
